
CONEGLIANO'S
ITINERARIES Conegliano is a unique town, unrepeatable, in the past it was called
"Pear of Veneto", but also nowadays it certainly is one of the most beautiful towns in
Italy. It is rich in history, art and natural beauties. (M.

CASA
LONGEGA (on the footbills) The façade is enriched by beautiful fired clay slabs and by little archaic
busts.

PAWN
SHOP
(on the foothills) It is an elegant palace with a completely frescoed façade. Once it used to be the seat of the Pawn Shop (Monte di Pietà), an institution founded in 1524 by the Battuti society.

FONTANA
DEI CAVALLI (beyond the walls) "Fontana dei cavalli o del Nettuno". In 1337 the
fountain, a work by Filippo Spongardi, was situated in the present 18th July 1866
Square, at the top of the "Scalinata degli Alpini".

THE
MONTICANO (beyond the walls) The river that crosses the town of Conegliano continues its course to the city of Oderzo.

MADONNA
DELLE GRAZIE (church and religious buildings) The architectual style is simple and at the same time complex. It was designed by the architect Nerino Meneghello and it's harmoniously inserted in the context of the modern surrounding residential buildings.

CASA
LONGEGA On the corner of the house a memorial stone remembers an episode happened on 31st October 1791, when Giovanni
Bastianello, named Moschino da Firenze, kicked a ball here from the corner of Casa Piutti according to the
legend.

PAWN
SHOP The attribution of frescoes is uncertain. The tradition says that "La Pietà" was painted by Pordenone while the little angels were painted by Beccaruzzi.

FONTANA
DEI CAVALLI (Nettuno) In 1770 the obelisk was replaced by the Neptune statue seated on the shell hauled by two sea
horses, coming from the Foscolo villa in Oderzo.

THE CATHEDRAL The cathedral, dedicated to St.Leonard and St. Mary (S. Maria Annunziata) ancient naves of the XIV century which have regained the original aspects after diligent restoration.

THE
CATHEDRAL (PALA DEL CIMA) The major altar screen:"Madonnna con il bambino, Santi e Angeli".The screen was ordered by the Battuti society.
